Baramulla, Jul 03: Two local youths, from Baramulla town and Athoora Kreeri, have reportedly joined militant ranks in the north Kashmir district.

On Wednesday, purported pictures of two youths from the district Uzair Amin Bhat and Arif Ahmed Bhat featured on social media showing them as having joined militancy.

Uzair Min Bhat, son of Mohammad Amin Bhat, resident of Chesti Colony in Baramulla, is seen holding an AK-47 rifle and wearing a camouflage vest; a pistol, some magazines and grenades are also visible in front of the youth.

Pictures of another youth Arif Ahmed Bhat, son of Mohammed Maqbool Bhat, a resident of Athoora village of Kreeri area of the district have also gone viral.

The police have not yet verified the authenticity of the pictures.
