Srinagar, Jul 03: At least eighteen students and a teacher were injured after a school excursion bus met with an accident in Repora-Lar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday.

Officials said an excursion bus (JK15-5460) of Government Middle School Pathkoot Bandipora, carrying students and staff of the school for a picnic skidded off the road near Repora-Lar area in Ganderbal when the bus was returning from Sonamarg.

Police identified the injured students as Parveena Bano (12), Tasleema (12), Arizoo (16), Naseema Bano (13), Aabida (12), Nasreena (11), Jameen (13), Mehnaaz (14), Kulsooma (13), Shubeena (14), Zafreena (15), Saima (11), Sabeena (13), Samreena (9) and a teacher Mohammad Yousuf Chopan, son Mohammad Abdullah, all residents of Bandipora.

Police said the injured persons were rushed to District Hospital Ganderbal from where three of them were referred to SKIMS Soura. Police has registered a case in this regard.
