Budgam, July 2, 2019: In the first semi-final match of ‘Trapai Premier League’, Mahayan-XI routed Sogina-XI by 9 runs and cemented their place in the final. Batting first after winning the toss Mahayan-XI lost early wickets at regular intervals. Mahayan-XI top order batsmen failed to form any good partnerships and the team was reeling at 24 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Irfan Khan was then joined by skipper Tanveer; both batsmen played cautiously and structured the much needed partnership. The duo added 98 runs before Irfan was trapped before the wickets. Tanveer scored 47 runs while as Irfan added 29 runs as Mahayan-XI posted 133 runs in allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Sogina-XI were pushed back-foot as Tanveer picked up 2 wickets in the very first over of second innings. Sogina-XI batsmen failed to rotate strike and were looking just for boundaries. They kept on scoring runs but wickets fell frequently as well. It was out-of-the-box performance by number 8 and number 9 batsmen as both played very sensible cricket and mounted pressure back on Mahayan-XI. Irshad (Aeffi) provided the team with much important wicket at the end as Mahayan-XI won the match by 9 runs. Tanveer picked up 4 wickets, Irshad (Aeffi) bagged 3 wickets and Irfan picked up a couple of wickets as well. With this win, Mahayan-XI secured their spot in the finals. Tanveer for his match winning performance was adjudged as man of the match.
