Tarzova, June 30: The members of Traders Federation and Civil Society Tarzova have opposed the shifting of J&K Bank, Branch Tarzova, from main market Tarzova to a residential area of the village.

Talking to Kashmir, the members said, “Despite the protest of Traders Federation and Civil Society Tarzova, the J&K Bank authorities are allowing and providing finance for construction of J&K Bank branch Tarzova at a residential area. The decision has caused inconvenience to the account holders.”

“The land being used for the construction purposes is not registered in the name of the person who is allowing construction on it. J&K Chairman is requested to investigate the matter and dispose of the complaints raised by the public,” they added.

Traders Federation President Fayaz Ahmad Bhat told Kashmir Images that the decision to shift the bank has been taken to benefit those who enjoy political patronage. “We approached the Zonal Office Amargrah to discuss the issue with an officer but we were humiliated there,” the president added.

When contacted Zonal head North Kashmir J&K Bank said, “The building of the branch is in a dilapidated condition and the decision to shift the branch was taken 4 years ago.”

“We had published an advertisement in the newspaper regarding shifting of the branch and our office received six applications. The place that we have selected is almost 500 meters away from previous place,” the officer added.
