Baramulla:  A young shopkeeper shot at and injured after fired upon by unknown gunmen at Old Town area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday late afternoon, succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Srinagar on Monday morning.
A police officer  that the gunmen fired upon Sameer Ahmad Ahanger (25) son of Mohmad Yaqub Ahanger of  Mir Sahib Mohalla Old Town injured him critically.
Sameer, a shopkeeper by profession, suffered serious bullet wounds in his leg and abdomen and was shifted to a nearby district hospital for treatment and was shifted to Srinagar for further treatment where he succumbed to his injuries this morning.
Pall of gloom descended on old town as body of young shopkeeper reached here.
Soon after the incident security forces have launched a hunt to nab the assailants.
“Police has also taken cognizance of the incident and further investigations taken up,” the officer said.
