SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Vinod Sharma along with a team of concerned officers today inspected the camp-sites established in connection with forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The team during their interaction with management committees of various langars and proprietors of other food establishments listened to their problems/suggestions pertaining to the food safety issues. The facilities created by food providers for the Yatris were also inspected.
The Commissioner advised them to maintain utmost hygiene and also to maintain the quality of food items and strictly adhere to the various advisories issued by the competent authorities.
The Commissioner also directed the field staff of the department to continuously keep inspecting the facilities throughout the Yatra period.
The team also took stock of the availability of medicines for the pilgrims as well as for others connected with the Yatra.
Lotika Khajuria, State Drugs Controller, Irfana Ahmad, Dy. Commissioner Food Safety, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety (HQ), Assistant Controller Food, Designated Officers Food Safety, Assistant Drugs Controllers of the concerned Districts, Food Safety Officers and Drug Control Officers accompanied the Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration during the inspection.
