Ganderbal, June 27: Sameena Akhtar a dark horse participant in the talent hunt show “Choona Ha Asmaan” surprised all and won the finale.
Sameena faced stiff competition in the finale with budding singers which included likes of Abid winner of Saaz aur awaaz show, Junaid chasti and others.
Sameena stormed through auditions, qualifying and finale and won title of “Choona Ha Asmaan”.
Arifa Bilal and Junaid Chasti secured second and third place respectively.
Speaking to Kashmir Images Sameena said, “I have no words to express my happiness. This was my first big competition and I have performed very well. The win has encouraged me a lot. My dream is to become a professional singer.”
“I want to excel in Kashmiri folk singing,” she added.
Organisers said the winners of the show will get opportunity to perform at state and national level singing shows.
