PL Gautam lays foundation stone of admin building cum Lab of KVK at Kupwara

KUPWARA, JUNE 27: Professor P L Gautam, former Chairperson Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority and Vice-Chancellor, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUA &T) today visited frontier District Kupwara where he laid foundation stone of the administrative building cum laboratory block of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Regipora.

The ceremony was held in presence of Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir Prof Nazeer Ahmad, District Development Commissioner Kupwara Anshul Garg, Director ICAR-ATARI Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director Extention Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, Estates Officer/ Chief Engineer Syed Iqbal Aga, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer other Officers of district administration were also present. A large number of people from the catchment areas, various local and other people attended the occasion.

The concerned officials of KVK informed that the two storied building will be constructed on 4762 sqfts of land at an approximate cost of 1.80 Cr. It was also informed that the building will accommodate various facilities including Office, Library, Lecture Room and Computer Room.

It was also informed that the construction work on the building will be started very soon, and the work will be completed within two years of time period.

Later P L Gautam accompanied by other dignitaries visited various areas in the district and took stock of overall functioning of the department.
