Srinagar: Noted Environmental Lawyer, Nadeem Qadri has launched “Green Party of Jammu and Kashmir” to work for the safety of environment, forests, wildlife and water bodies of the state.

“My party will make sure that the charming beauty and magnificent climate of the valley remains priority. He said that the state of Jammu Kashmir in general and the valley of Kashmir in particular has seen a huge turbulence lately.

“The worst victim due to this turbulence is the environment security of the state. Our forests have been destroyed, Dal Lake is polluted, Jehlum runs with poison, Wular Lake is dying, Hangul, our state animal along with other wildlife species is running out of life and the entire pristine tourist destinations are on a brink of extinction. All of them exhibit the failures of successive regimes in the valley,” he said.

He further said that there is a need for a political force which would work for the safety of our environment.

Remembering his grandfather Peerzada Ghulam Jeelani Qadri, he said that late Qadri was one of the most prominent figures in political, social and religious arena of Jammu & Kashmir.
