Well wishers interact with BAITUL HILAL children

Srinagar: As part of creating sense of belonging & affection, the guest visits to interact with BAITUL HILAL children are regularly conducted at J&K Yateem Foundation’s Jawahar Nagar headquarters here.

During the past week several well wishers and volunteers from different parts of Kashmir region visited BAITUL HILAL and held informal interaction sessions with the children during their leisure time.

Director Finance, SKUAST Kashmir Bashir Ahmad Haji, KAS visited Baitul Hilal to interact with the students.  During an hour long session with the students, Haji interacted freely with children and enquired about their well being, academics, schooling and day to day life. While interacting with the students he stressed upon the students to spend at least 07 hours to study. He urged students to study other books other than their curriculum related text books.

Quoting Quran, Hadith and Muslim history he urged upon the students to take cue from the teachings of glorious holy Qur’an and Hadith to develop an interest in the education and science. He advised them to follow the Islamic teachings in letter and spirit.

Senior volunteer from Bandipora Mohammed Yousuf Bhat, Gh Nabi Khanday Tehsil Representative (TR) Tangmarg and Javaid Ahmad Rather, Tehsil Representative (TR) Narwaw from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, were also present on the occasion.

During the previous week, two JKYF volunteers from Dadasara Tral, Pulwama, government teachers, interacted with the students at Baitul Hilal. Mir Zahoor Tehsil Representative (TR) Tral and Sr volunteer Reyaz Ahmad Bhat had a session to know about academic performance of the students. They submitted their observations and suggestions to Incharge Baitul Hilal Bashir Ahmad Bhat.

The volunteers assured that they will help and encourage the students in their studies from time to time. They pointed out that quality education should be the focus of Foundation.

Bilal Ahmad, volunteer from Srinagar district had also interaction with the Baitul Hilal children.

On Saturday evening (June 22), honorary member of Baitul Hilal Committee (BHC) Nisar ul Haq Nadvi, a government teacher from district Pulwama, held interaction session with children. He asked children to inculcate habits of truthfulness and commitment to good deeds and focus honestly on studies to achieve cent percent success in upcoming school examinations.

On Sunday June 23, Sr Volunteer and another member of Baitul Hilal Committee (BHC) Javaid Jawad, a government teacher, from Bandipora had playful session with the children focusing on their studies, health & hygiene and day to day activities. He conducted creative poetry session in Urdu & Kashmiri encouraging children to create couplets on spot. He enjoined upon children to read periodicals and books like Tell Me Why, Science Reporter, English Today, Science Ki Duniya, Bachhoun Ki Duniya, Wisdom, Young Muslim Digest, You Can Win by Shiv Khera, Wings of Fire by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam etc for gaining more knowledge and information. The children enjoyed the session and presented creative poetry including Ladishah (kashmiri traditional folk singing genre) that created laughter among the children.

The guests appealed general people to visit orphan children regularly at BAITUL HILAL and other orphanages so that they feel sense of belonging and experience comfort within social mainstream.
