Dr Asgar Samoon hands over ATV scooters to Gurez youth

BANDIPORA, JUNE 22: Principal Secretary Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon on Saturday handed over All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) to several youths of Gurez and flagged off a rally of ATV scooters with an aim to promote tourism in the area.

The special bikes have been provided to the youth of Gurez for income-generation as the influx of tourists has increased in the valley.  On the occasion,  Samoon said that several projects are in pipeline to attract tourists to the Gurez valley  so that tourism is promoted in  Gurez valley. He said steps are being taken to bring the gurez valley on international tourist map again as it has been a prime attraction for international tourists especially adventure tourists in past.

A boat rally was also organised in Kishenganga river in which many tourists and locals participated. He also inaugurated a play field at Markoot Gurez.

Later Principal Secretary held a Public Darbar in Dawar that was attended by a large number of people. Several delegations apprised Samoon about the issues faced by them in day to day life including road connectivity, water and power supply. Samoon gave a patient hearing to the people and assured them that steps shall be taken for the redressal of their genuine grievances.
