Div Com Jammu conducts brief tour of Kathua

KATHUA, JUNE 22: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today conducted a brief tour of Kathua in which he visited village Budhi and Manyari, Pansar, Bobiya and Haria Chak villages of Border area.

During his visit the Divisional Commissioner took assessment of percolation of welfare schemes to the villagers and took notice of encroachment of state land and directed the concerned revenue officers to get the land vacated so that the land can be used for the upliftment of villagers by planting trees or making playfields.

In water stressed areas, Div Com advised the officers to encourage villagers for conserving natural water bodies and harvesting rain water. He also asked the concerned officers to complete all the road projects and the repair work so that connectivity especially of border areas can be strengthened.

The Divisional Commissioner also took notice of water supply schemes of the area and asked the officers to ensure potable water for every household. He further directed the officers to install hand pumps in water deficient areas.

Later, the Div Com visited grid station at Marheen and inquired about the power scenario of the area. The PDD officials on duty informed him that an additional transformer of 10 MVA has been demanded to deal with overloading and voltage problem of the area.

ADC Kathua, Ghanshyam Singh, SDM Hiranagar, Suresh Kumar, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Patwari, officers of BSF and other concerned officials were present during the visit.
