KULGAM, JUNE 20: A meeting cum workshop of district level coordination committee was today held under the National Tobacco Control programme at mini Secretariat Kulgam.

The workshop was held under the chairmanship of DDC Kulgam Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani which was organised by Directorate of Health Services Kashmir

On the occasion, doctors highlighted the role and responsibilities of various departments in tobacco control. Experts spoke of various goals achieved under National Control Programme in Jammu and Kashmir

The DDC exhorted upon the concerned departments to implement all the sections of COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) -2003 in letter and spirit. He directed the Health Department to display signages at public places parks and bus stops. He also stressed on organising school awareness programmes for sensitising students regarding tobacco control.
