Will try to implement all NCPUL schemes in Kashmir: Dr Ahmed

Srinagar:  One day session of CABA.MDTP and a certificate distribution was held at Alama Iqbal Library, Kashmir University. The function was attended by centre incharges and students of 89 CABA.MDTP centres. The function was also attended by VC Central University Kashmir, Prof Meraj ud Din as Guest of Honour and VC Kashmir University, Prof Talat Ahmad as Chief Guest.

Dr Sheikh Aqeel Ahmad, Director National Urdu Council, while addressing the function said that Kashmir is very fertile for Urdu language and therefore the Council wants to implement its schemes here on grand scale. He said that there are so many centres in Kashmir and rest of India run by NCPUL where from thousands of students get trained in Urdu, Persian, Arabic and computers and following which get employment. Besides there are thousands of people engaged in these centres as teachers and trainers.

VC Central University said that NCPUL should open more centres in Kashmir and should also pay attention towards Urdu journalism.  Assuring full support of University he suggested establishment of a committee to monitier the functioning of these centres.

VC Kashmir University said that Urdu language should get what is its rightful due and people should come forward to take benefit of NCPUL centres. He also suggested that NCPUL should collaborate with University’s media department to trained Urdu journalists.

The programme was conducted by Intikhab Ahmad (Research Officer) and vote of thanks was presented by Ajmal Saeed (AEO).
