Sopore, June 15: In the ongoing Wular Premier League (WPL), first match of the day was played between Sofi Brothers and Friends XI Tangmarg today here at Sheikhul Alam Sports Ground Tarzoo Sopore.
After winning the toss, Sofi Brother opted to bat and set a huge target of 189 runs on the board. Naveed Ahmad made 75 runs and Majid Dar 35 runs. Sofi Brothers has abundant talent in the form of senior players like Majid Dar, Syed Sagar, Zahoor Sofi, Tahseen Dar.
For Friends XI Tangmarg, Ashraf and Danish took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Friends XI Tangmarg failed to chase the target and loss the match by a huge margin of 99 runs. Only three of their batsmen crossed the double figure. Bilal made 16 runs, Waseem 14 and Danish contributed with 21 runs.
For Sofi Brothers, Zahoor Sofi and Arshid took 2 wickets each.
Naveed Ahmad was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 75 runs.
The tournament is being organised by Sports Association Tarzoo.
