Speaking to Kashmir Images, inspired by his grandfather who was an amateur footballer, Zara said: “Football is more than sport for me. It is very important part of my life. I work hard to improve my football skill and my hard work has paid off.”

Zara has represented the J&K team three times at national level. “My individual performance at national level was good but we as a team didn’t play very well. Other states have very strong team. We need to work hard to compete against other states for better results,” she said.

In Let’s Play Football, Zara scored 4 goals in 2 matches and guided Srinagar to semifinal.

Zara said that In India football is male dominated sport. Women’s football should be promoted and developed .There should be a separate institution or body which can promote and develop women’s football.

Zara wishes to play at international level with national team and football clubs. “As of now, I am on the right track. More competitions like this one should be conducted so that we can enhance our skills. These kinds of event also boost morale of players,” she added.
