Srinagar, June 11: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) Wednesday thanked Governor Satyapal Milk and his Council of Advisors for resolving their long pending issues which they alleged previous governments miserably failed to do.

The teacher’s body said the inclusion of SSA teachers  into state cadre and issue of fund deficiency were two serious demands that present dispensation resolved thus easing the burden of SSA teachers who often hit streets in protest.

JKTA President, Shah Fayaz appealed the Governor administration to also resolve their salary issue which he said has not been released since February this year.

“We are very much thankful to Governor Satyapal Malik, his Advisor, Khursheed Ahmad Ganai, Chief Secretary BVR Subhramanyam and Commissioner Secretary Finance and Education and other higher-ups for resolving our long pending issues,” said Shah addressing a press conference at Kashmir Press Club here.

He said the State Administrative Council (SAC) decision of December 2018 was historical one as almost 80 percent erstwhile SSA teachers were converted into grade-II. He said the government should now speedup pending cases like regularization.

“Since the previous governments couldn’t do much, we appeal the Governor Satyapal Malik to address our other issues including that of regularization of undergraduates and release pending salaries,” he added.

“We hope the Governor Administration will seriously look into the issue so as to make distressed SSA teachers to heave a sigh of relief,” Shah said.
