Social Welfare dept organizes distribution camp at Budgam
BUDGAM, JUNE 11: District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) Budgam today distributed wheelchairs, hearing aid, tricycles and crutches among 58 specially-abled persons during a function held at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall Budgam.
The aid and appliances were distributed by Chief Planning Officer Budgam, Rafiq Ahmad Dar in presence of District Social Welfare Officer Budgam Aqeel Ahmad and other officials among the specially-abled persons under prosthetic aid scheme.
The aid distributed included 23 wheelchairs, 31 hearing aid, 3 tricycles and one crutch.
On the occasion, DSWO Budgam Aqeel Ahmad said that after proper scrutiny 58 cases were cleared by the department to receive the aid under the Prosthetic Aid Scheme in the district. He said that such appliances and gadgets will enable these persons to live their normal life with dignity.
