BARAMULLA, JUNE 11: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by Joint Director Planning, SE R&B and various other concerned officers today visited various playfields along Kalayban- Kawhar road of Narvaw area in response to the requisitions submitted by the people for addressing their demands in general and development of playfields in particular.

During the tour, the DDC met several deputations and delegations and listened to their grievances and demands with regard to the development of the area.

A deputation from Pakhtoon Mohalla Kalayban demanded levelling and fencing of playfield adjoining Middle School Pakhtoon Mohalla. The deputation also demanded crate bund/breast wall alongside the Nallah adjoining playfield. Other demands extended by the deputation included sports kits for the youth, sanctioning of a dispensary for the Kalayban village and other demands of vital public importance.

Another deputation from Kawhar demanded macadamisation and development of Kawhar – Galibal stretch of Kalayban – Kawhar road, infrastructure development of educational institutions. They also raised the issue of man-animal conflict and demanded appropriate measures to be taken in this regard.

Another deputation of Heewan demanded widening of Sheeri – Kalayban road.

DDC had a patient hearing to the grievances and demanded and assured that all their genuine demands shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal. He said that district administration has initiated a public outreach programme under which various public issues are projected at their doorsteps. Moreover, he urged upon them to cooperate with the administration so that the region is developed on all fronts.
