Roll out of Mahila Shakti Kendra reviewed in Budgam

BUDGAM, JUNE 8: District Development Commissioner, Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today convened a meeting of officers of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Education, Social Welfare and Rural Development departments to finalize the rollout of Mahila Shakti Kendra, an umbrella scheme under Pradhan Mantri Shashakhti Karan Kendra Yojna (PMMSY).

During the meeting, it was given out that the scheme will provide one-stop convergent support services for empowering rural women with opportunities for skill development, employment digital literacy, health and nutrition.

The scheme envisages constitution of the District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) which will collect information on government programmes, schemes, services meant for women empowerment (including BBBP, women helpline, Swadhar, one-stop centre Ujjawala, etc).

On the occasion, DDC instructed concerned for the early and expeditious culmination of the selection process so that scheme can be made functional in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC/DPO, ACD CEO Fatima Tak, DIO Budgam, DSWO and other concerned officials of ICDS.
