Workshop of DLCC under National Tobacco Control programme held at Kupwara

KUPWARA, JUNE 03: Meeting cum workshop programme of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) under National Tobacco Control programme was held today in the meeting hall of DC Office Complex Kupwara.

The workshop held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Kupwara Anshul Garg and was organised by State Tobacco Control Cell in collaboration with International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung disease.

The aim of the workshop was to highlight the role and responsibilities of various departments on tobacco control.

Various experts and speakers threw light on the topic.

On the occasion DC directed the concerned departments to inform the public about hazards of tobacco use by displaying the graphical, animated films in schools, colleges and other public meetings, to achieve the goal of tobacco free district. He also directed the health department to display no tobacco sign boards, hoardings at all the bus stops, public parks and other public places.

The workshop was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Medical Officers, Counsellors, Officials of Education Department and other concerned.
