State volleyball men team to leave for 21st Youth National today

JAMMU, May 30: State volleyball men team is leaving tomorrow for participation in the 21st Youth National Volleyball Championship for (Men and Women) to be held at Jhunjhunu, Chirawa in Rajasthan from June 2 to 7, 2019.

Before their departure, the boys team underwent 12-day coaching camp organized by Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council at District Police Line Jammu under the supervision of Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (J), J&K State Sports Council Jammu and Volleyball Coach Naresh Sharma, Qualified NIS Level-1 FIVB coaches course.

President of the Volleyball Association of J&K, Sidharth Daluja and Honourary General Secretary, Vijay Kumar Magotra wished good luck to the team for achieving good results in the national championship. President VAJK also provided uniform kits and track suits to all participants and encouraged for upholding the image of J&K State in volleyball game at national level.   Ram Lal Sharma, Naresh Kumar and Anil Kumar are accompanying the team as manager, coach and assistant coach respectively. Ravi Singh Divisional Sports Officer (J), J&K State Sports Council Jammu conducted the screening of team also wished best of luck to the team.

As per a handout issued by the Association, J&K team has been placed in Pool-A with Rajasthan, Karela, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra being other teams. Neeraj Sharma is also accompanying the team as invitee referee of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI).

Team: Shakir Ashraf (Kulgam), Aaqib Rafiq Bhat (Shopian), Rajeshwar Sharma, Rajan Saini and Sourab Sharma (Kathua), Anku Sharma, Abhishek Bhardwaj, Amrik Singh and Lokesh Kumar (Samba),  Chahat Rajara  and Dheeraj Sikka (Jammu) and Sachin Sharma (Rajouri District).
