 PDP worried over damage caused to crops due to hailstorm

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura on Tuesday expressed concern over the large scale damage caused to crops and orchards in central Kashmir due to recent hailstorm.

In a statement issued here, Hanjura said that the damage caused due to hailstorm is massive and that the government must assess the damage and mitigate farmers at an earliest.

He said that the orchardists and agriculturalists in Kashmir are bearing the brunt of nature’s fury and the government must come out with a comprehensive roadmap so that the victims of this climate change aren’t made to suffer any further.

Hanjura said the areas where wide scale damage to crops has been caused include Panzan,   Poorwara, Hashru, Namtehaal, Rapora , Bachro, Wathora,  Chadoora,  Magam and several others.
