DC Kupwara interacts with Members of Handwara, Langate Municipal bodies

KUPWARA, MAY 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara Anshul Garg today convened an interactive meeting with Municipal Presidents, Ward members of Handwara and Langate and discussed the developmental and other issues related to both the towns.

ADC Handwara, Executive Engineer PDD, I&FC, PHE & R&B and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.

The participants raised several core issues in the meeting and sought immediate attention of the Government. The raised issues included, solid waste management, improvement in road infrastructure and service delivery, enhancing staff and improvement in water and power supply etc.

On the occasion Deputy Commissioner while underlining the role of Municipal Committees in ensuring a proactive and participatory administration sought their cooperation in dealing with vital issues of public importance.

He directed the Executive Engineer R&B, Handwara to formulate a DPR for construction of Solid Waste Management site and improvement of children’s Park Handwara.  He also directed XEN PDD to take steps for installation of street lights in the town.

The DDC assured the participants that all the important issues with special focus on maintaining accountable and transparent administration at all levels will get the attention of district administration.

Later, Deputy Commissioner along with a team of officers including Exen I&FC visited the various areas of Handwara town to inspect the spots where the drive for the axing of banned Russian trees is going on.
