Srinagar, May 27: Students from different schools of the valley who have recently passed 12th class exams Monday held protest here against the authorities for allegedly delaying their admission to the next class.

The protesting students including boys and girls who had gathered at Lal Chowk threatened to intensify their protest in case the admission link which they said has been temporarily ‘blocked’ by the Cluster University is not restored.

Holding placards which read “don’t play with our future and we want justice” the protesting students said the college authorities citing temporary blocking of admission link by the Cluster University have informed them that their admission is possible once the link is restored.

“We were declared fail (reappear) in few subjects. However we worked hard and passed the exams with good marks now college authorities have categorically told us that our admission to the next class is not possible until the admission link which has been temporarily blocked is restored,” said Sabir Mohi-ud-din a student.

He said the authorities dillydallying tactics have made them to run form one college to another to get their admission done, however no measures are being taken to restore the admission link the authorities concerned.

“It seems they want to waste our academic year. What if the admission link has been blocked by the Cluster University they can make it operational for two days only till the admission of all students done,” he added.

The students threatened to hit streets in case the authorities continue to delay their admission “we will stage dharna on roads if the authorities again continue to cite the same old reason”

The students finally appealed the Governor Satyapal Milk to intervene and issue show cause notice to Cluster University for blocking admission link.
