SRINAGAR, MAY 23 : Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh and other cadres of Jammu and Kashmir Police have condoled the death of Mohammad Shafi Wani IGP (Retd.). Wani expired at Sudan Heart Care Centre, Karanbagh Satwari, Jammu today morning.

In his condolence message the DGP has said that the departed officer was known in the department for his qualities of head and heart. He said that his services will be long remembered in the department. The DGP has expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family.

Mohammad Shafi Wani retired from Jammu and Kashmir Police in 2002. His last posting in the Department was IGP Traffic, J&K. The officer has remained posted in different capacities in the State including DIG Vigilance, DIG CID Kashmir, IGP Human Rights, IGP Security and IGP Traffic.
