DIPR hosts symposium, cultural Prog on Drug de-addiction

JAMMU, MAY 22: The Cultural Wing, Department of Information & Public Relations, Jammu today organized a symposium cum Cultural Programme on the topic “Drug de-addiction” here at Government Higher Secondary School, Saruinsar.

Principal of the host school, Subash Chander Sharma was the chief guest.

Over 11 students of host school participated in the contest and expressed their views on the topic.

Shivani Thakur, student of class 11 bagged the first position, while Mansi Sharma of class 11th and Tahina Sharma of class 10th secured second and third positions, respectively.

The Principal lauded the efforts of Department for holding symposium on the important topic. He urged the students to disseminate the awareness among the common masses on such issues.

The chief guest called for organizing more such awareness programmes on the vital social issues for the benefits of student community as well as society.

Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Saruinsar also threw light on the topic.

Later, artists of Cultural Wing and Students of the host school presented a scintillating cultural programme based on drug de- addiction and rich folk culture, which was highly applauded by the audience.

Among others present were Sarpanch, Bodh Raj Singh, Drama Instructor, Vijay Anand, senior artists of Information Department including Yash Kumar, Mohinder Kumar, Rakesh Kumar & Balbir Singh, staff members and large number of the students were also present on the occasion.
