Woman dies, two persons injured in two separate road mishaps in Baramulla

Baramulla: A woman died and two other persons were injured in two separate road mishaps in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

Witness said that a woman died after mini bus hit with her at Watergam Rafiabad in Baramulla district

They said that a speedy mini bus bearing registration number JK05 5691 hit pedestrian woman identified as Shameema Begum Wife of Abdul Salam Gorji of Watergam Rafiabad.

“Shameema was critically injured in the mishap and she succumbed to her injuries while she was on way to hospital”, said a shopkeeper who accompanied her.

Police has arrested the driver of the mini bus and further investigation has been initiated.

Meanwhile, two persons got injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a stream on Uri Nambla road near Syedpora village of Uri Baramulla.

Sources said that a chassis Eeco vehicle skidded off from the road and fell into a river near Syedpora village resulting injuries to two persons.

The injured were identified as Mansoor Ahmad a resident of Niloosa Bijhama and Mansoor Ahmad a resident of Balkote.

They said both the injured were rushed to Sub district hospital SDH Uri for treatment.

Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation is going on.
