Training prog for counting staff held at Kargil

KARGIL, MAY 18: The training programme for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voters Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) was held at Conference Hall Baroo, Kargil here today.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Deputy District Election Officer, AROs, other concerned officers besides the Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers attended the training programme.

The Nodal Officer Manpower and Training Leh, Dr Stanzin Rabgyas and Dr Tundup Namgyal and District Level Master Trainer (DLMT), Kargil Haji Muhammad Hadi imparted the training through detailed power point presentation, hands on demonstration as well as informative video clips on  the process of counting of votes through EVM, VVPAT.

Returning Officer Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency and DEO Leh, Avny Lavasa stressed on the counting staff to thoroughly understand the counting procedure as per the ECI guidelines to undertake the entire counting process in a smooth and hassle-free manner.

Speaking on the occasion, DEO Kargil Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary urged the officials to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the set guidelines by ECI and the operationalization of the EVMs and VVPATs so as to avoid any sort of inconsistency in the counting process to ensure smooth the culmination of the electoral process.

After the intensive training process, the question answer session was also held and the officials clarified the doubts of the staff.
