Srinagar: The speakers at a seminar on “SHAHRUL MAWASAAT (Month of Sympathy)–Our Responsibilities Towards Orphans, Widows & Destitute”, organized by J&K Yateem Foundation in collaboration with Hassan Khoiyhami Memorial Degree College Bandipora, urged youngsters to associate themselves with the cause of welfare and rehabilitation of orphans, widows and destitute in Kashmir and elsewhere in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

The seminar also urged people to support only credible and transparent voluntary social service organizations.

Principal Prof. H G Mustafa in his presidential address stressed upon the students and the teachers to come forward and join hands with the organizations like JKYF to mitigate the sufferings of the deserving and the destitute.

Guest of honor and eminent Islamic scholar and preacher Showkat Shaheen while invoking teachings of Holy Qura’n and Sunnah enjoined upon the students to follow the glorious teachings of the Islam in doling out all kinds of support for the socio-economic uplift of the deserving and the needy people irrespective of any prejudice.

On the occasion, JKYF film titled “Together with Orphans, Widows & Destitute” was screened.

Senior JKYF volunteer Javaid Jawad gave a brief account of the activities of JKYF in  Bandipora district.

About 500 students besides teaching and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion.

Scores of JKYF volunteers including ex chairman Mohammed Rafiq Lone were also present.

Vice Principal of Degree College Bandipora Dr (Ms) Kousar Parveen conducted the proceedings of the seminar
