Srinagar: Two militants, one civilian and one army personnel were killed in an encounter with government forces at Handew area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.
Earlier police had claimed that three militants were killed but later one of the slain was found as a civilian.
The encounter took place after a joint team of army’s 44 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operations this afternoon at Handew village.
A police officer confirmed to KNO that two militants were killed and bodies were recovered as well.”The another one is a civilian Ishtaq Ahmad Bhat @ Zubair S/O Dawood Ahmad Bhat R/O Handew Shopian” the official told KNO
