Kumar, Skandan review progress on creation of Sports infra at Panchayat level

SRINAGAR, MAY 15: Advisors to Governor K Vijay Kumar and K Skandan today reviewed the progress on state government’s initiative to develop the sports infrastructure at Panchayat level and to engage the youth in various sports activities.

Secretary RDD Sheetal Nanda, Secretary YSS & Sports Sarmad Hafeez, Director General YSS & Sports Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Secretary JK Sports Council Dr Naseem Choudhary and other senior officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting.

All the Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting through video-conferencing who apprised the Advisors about the details of the playfields that are ready at panchayat level in their respective districts and the places they have identified for the creation of new playfields.

Detailed discussion was held with the Deputy Commissioners on the progress they have made in this regard along with the action plan under which the sports activities need to be carried out at grass root level.

While discussing the district wise details of the sports infrastructure that is available or which needs to be created, the DC’s were asked to provide the details of playfields at all panchayats in their respective districts along with the fund requirements to develop them in the State.
