SRINAGAR, MAY 14: Advisor to the Governor KK Sharma today called for use of cost-effective technology in constructions so that the cost escalations and other related things are checked and people are provided with viable alternatives as well to ensure putting in place speedy and economical infrastructure.

The Advisor was speaking while reviewing the working of Building Centre, Srinagar here today.

Director Building Centre Srinagar Javaid Shah, Chief Town Planner Anita Sambyal and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor urged the concerned for properly propagating cost effective technology so that people can make economical dwelling units and other constructions.

He said the technological interventions in undertaking constructions would also address other issues like costing and other environmental and ecological factors.

He said that various government departments while undertaking constructions should give preference to the Building Centres in construction and procurement of the materials as it would considerably cut down the costs of constructions in constructing Government infrastructure and other developmental works.
