Dwivedi reviews functioning of Information Department

SRINAGAR, MAY 14: Commissioner-Secretary, Forests, Ecology & Environment & Information, M K Dwivedi today reviewed the functioning of Information Department at a meeting of officers here.

Addressing the meeting, Dwivedi stressed on further professionalizing the activities of the Department to serve as a bridge between the Government and the media. He laid stress on complete synergy between field activities and policy formulations to achieve the desired results.

The Commissioner-Secretary asked for studying guidelines at national level and of different states to address the issues of emerging social media. He also asked for holding regular meetings of various Departmental committees to redress the pending issues.

Dwivedi also asked for initiating a process of filling up of all vacant positions in the Department, holding of Departmental Promotion Committees and taking other such measures for the welfare of employees to further enhance their morale.

The Commissioner-Secretary also reviewed the process of empanelment of radio and cable channels, infrastructure issues of media centres and other issues.

Earlier, Director Information & Public Relations, Gulzar Ahmad gave a resume of the activities of the Department.

Additional Secretary Information, Ram Sevak; Joint Directors, Information, Jammu & Kashmir, Naresh Kumar & Abid Ahmad; Financial Advisor, Arif Ali; Deputy Directors, Parveen Kumar & Rakesh Kumar Dubey and other officers attended the meeting.
