BUDGAM, MAY 14: District Development Commissioner, Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting to take review of overall functioning of Education department at New Conference Hall Budgam.

The DDC reviewed the status of providing quality education, assured minimum facilities at all institutions and resource utilization of DIET in the district. The rationalization of teachers, vacant school buildings, and water, toilet and electricity facilities at schools was also discussed threadbare.

The DDC directed Chief Education Officer, Budgam to prepare estimates for separate toilets in schools within seven days, while as ZEOs were directed to intensify surprise checks in schools, besides increasing student enrollment ratio, effecting proper and result oriented monitoring of schools and ensuring quality education. She also reviewed district, state plans and centrally sponsored schemes.

The DDC emphasized on providing all sports related facilities and involving students in extra- curriculum activities in the schools.

Later on, the DDC also reviewed ICDS sector in a meeting with DPO Budgam and CDPOs of the ICDS projects of the district. During the meeting, review regarding functioning of Anganwari Centers, availability of nutrition items and procurement process, status of Ladli Beti and Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao was done. She also reviewed the status of construction of Anganwari Centers in convergence with MGNREGA, AMF facilities; One Stop Centre, Mahila Shakhti Kendra and monitoring of bio-metric attendance also come up in the meeting.

ADC Budgam, CPO, ACD, CEO, Principal DIET, Dy. CEO, DEPO, Tehsildar Headquarter, Ex. En. R&B, Ex.En. PHE, Chadoora, Budgam, Ex.En. PDD, ZEOs also attended the meeting.
