DLSA launches campaign envisaging legal assistance to Prisoners family members

JAMMU, MAY 06: District Legal Services Authority, Jammu under the Chairmanship of its Chairman Vinod Chatterji Koul, (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Jammu today launched a campaign for legal assistance to the family members of prisoners lodged in District Jail Amphalla and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.

In this regard, Legal Services Authority, Jammu has constituted a Resource Pool comprising Secretary, Legal Services Authority, Jammu, Naushad Ahmed Khan, Head, Department of Psychology, Government MAM College, Professor Shabila Wani, Advocate Jyoti Sharma, Master Trainer, Professor Ajeet Angral, Dr. Manu Arora, Psychiatrist, Advocates Shashi Chander, Deepali Kapoor and Zeeshan Ahmed Chouhan besides Retainer Lawyers, DLSA Jammu, for interaction with the Jail inmates as well as with their family members.

The Resource Pool shall analyze the issues of the jail inmates and conduct interaction with the family members of the inmates besides informing them about the activities of Legal Services Authorities and schemes of central and state government.

Secretary Legal Services Authority, Jammu gave an orientation to the teams constituted by DLSA for interaction with inmates of District Jail Amphalla and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu and their family members about the Rationale of the campaign, its expectations and the manner of conducting interaction.
