RO Leh stresses for finalization of EPICs, Voter Slips distribution

Leh, April 30: Returning Officer (RO) Leh Avny Lavasa today urged for finalizing the distribution of Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) and Voter Slips during the last crucial days before the polling.

RO said this while chairing a meeting of the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Leh district.

Appreciating the hard work and efforts of the BLOs, RO urged upon them to put extra effort and distribute the voter slips at the doorsteps of the voters.

She told the BLOs to set up a ‘help desk’ with the Electoral Roll on the polling day outside their respective polling stations for the convenience of the electors.

The BLOs were further instructed to visit their assigned polling stations for a final check of the assured minimum facility of electricity, toilet, furniture, ramp and water.

A Local Level Committee of BLOs, ASHAs, and Anganwadi workers will assist the polling parties with their required logistics, said RO. She further instructed to make proper arrangements as per the Election Commission of India guidelines at the polling stations.

She added on the poll day BLOs should assist any disable voters with the provided wheelchairs,.

Election Duty Certificate (EDC) and BLO kits were distributed among them. Heating expenses were also distributed among some of the BLOs assigned to high altitude areas like Relay-itching, Phobrang, Yurgo and others.

Additional District Development Commissioner Leh, Dy. District Election Officer Leh, District Programme Officer ICDS Leh were also present during the meeting.
