JAMMU APRIL 27: A painting competition on the theme “My Dream Garden” was today organized here at Bagh-e-Bhour (Bhour Camp) by Department of Floriculture, Parks & Gardens Jammu in collaboration with J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation and School Education Department.

Students aged between 10-15 years of various Government High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu District participated in the contest.

The main purpose of the event was to provide opportunity to the students to explore their creativity in the beautiful environment of Bagh-e-Bhour. The students participated enthusiastically in the event and painted their ideas on the drawing sheets. Dr. Milan Sharma from Institute of Fine Arts & Music Jammu acted as Judge. The drawing material and refreshment for the students was sponsored by the J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation.

Palak Saini of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari bagged 1st prize,   Mamta Devi of Govt. Girls High School Bhour Camp bagged 2nd Prize and Shagufta of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari bagged 3rd prize. Consolation prizes were given to   Sandeep Kumar from Govt. Higher Secondary School Mandal &   Sheetal of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari.

After the event, the students were taken on tour of the Garden and the Model Floriculture Centre.

The prizes to the winners were presented by Bhawani Rakwal Managing Director, J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation and Babila Rakwal Director, Department of Floriculture, Parks & Gardens.
