Pulwama, April 27: District Election Officer (DEO), Pulwama, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah today convened a meeting to review the preparation and arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of Lok- Sabha Elections 2019 here today.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora, Deputy District Election Officer, Assistant Returning officers, Tehsildars, Nodal officers, Executive Engineers, Executive officers of Municipal Committees, and other concerned officials.
Focusing on the poll day arrangements, DEO reviewed the facilities including availability of water, electricity, furniture, refreshment, transportation, accommodation for polling staff besides, facilities for specially-abled voters.
DEO exhorted for facilitating every basic amenity so that voters as well as polling staff may not face any kind of inconvenience.
He stressed for expediting the deployment of adequate machines at the requisite polling booths for which he directed to mobilize the necessary manpower so that the process is completed well in advance. DEO also stressed for the adequate safety and security measures to strong rooms, collection and distribution centers in the district.
