Army Goodwill School, Ziran Sprinters Shine in Inter-SchooL Sports Competition

Srinagar, Apr 26: An inter-school Sports Competition between various schools of Tangmarg region was organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K on 22 Apr 2019 at Tangmarg.

According to a statement issued by Chinar Media Heart, the main event of the competition was “Sprintathon” which saw the participation of more than 350 students from 40 different schools. “The students participated in the race with high sprite and enthusiasm. The race was conducted in two categories, under-17 and under-14 for both boys and girls,” reads the statement.

“Amongst all the students who participated in the event, students of Army Goodwill School, Ziran outshined the rest by bagging commendable positions in both the categories. Miss Shazia Farooq of class IX bagged the first position in under-17 girl category while Master Rashid Mohi-ud-Din bagged the third position in under 17 boy’s category. In under-14 boy’s category, Master Mudabir Bashir and Master Zakir Ashraf bagged the third and fourth positions respectively. The budding sprinters of Army Goodwill School, Ziran were congratulated by the Secretary and Principal of Army Goodwill School, Ziran for their exemplary performance,” it said.

“The event concluded with the participating students being assured of more such events in the future. Such events will not only help in making of a healthier generation but also to positively channelise their energy towards a positive path,” it added.
