Awareness programme on sexual violence conducted at Degree College Tangdar

Karnah, Apr 24:  Tehsil Legal Service Committee Karnah in collaboration with Degree College Tangdar conducted a daylong awareness programme on sexual violence culpability of young offenders and cyber offences in Degree College Tangdar.

The programme was attended by hundreds of HSS Tangdar and Degree College Tangdar students, teaching and non teaching staff, members of Bar Association and others.

The programme was presided over by the Chairman Tehsil legal servive committee Karnah Easar-ul-Nabi (Munsif Judge Karnah).

During the awareness programme speakers spoke in detail on the sexual violence, abuse and rights through a power point presentation.

Talking to this correspondent, Chairman Tehsil Legal Service Committee Easar-ul-Nabi said that aim of organizing such programme was to make people aware about rights guaranteed under different laws and about ways to fight any kind of physical, sexual, emotional or psychological abuse at the hands of any persons at home or outside home. He also spoke on the Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act.

He urged students and teachers to immediately contact legal service authority, police or court in case any sexual abuse case takes place, to get justice to the victim.

The in charge Principal of College Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad thanked all the participants.
