Srinagar: Around 600 youth of Gurez and Kashmir Valley participated in a Recruitment Rally conducted by the Dawar Battalion of the Snow Leopard Brigade of Indian Army at Gurez on 22 Apr 2019.
The rally is scheduled upto 27 Apr and approximately 1800 youth are likely to take part in the rally, a defense spokesman said.
The recruitment is being conducted for various tradesmen including Porters, Barbers, Washer men, Cooks, etc for employing with Indian Army. Candidates from Gurez, Kashmir Valley and far flung areas of Jammu Division will appear in the rally in a phased manner.
Despite the inclement weather, high altitude terrain, security situation and poor road connectivity, the youth turned up in large numbers from the day one itself, he said, adding, “The youth were tested for medical and physical fitness. The enthusiasm and spirit of the candidates clearly reflects their desire for personal progression while having faith in Government and the Indian Army”.
