Gang using wooden toy gun for robberies busted in Sopore: Police

Sopore: Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang of thieves who were using a toy gun for robberies in Sopore town of Baramulla district.

Sopore Police in a press briefing said that the gang was arrested by a team of police on Thursday.

While addressing media, SDPO Sopore Raja Majid said that during special operation a gang comprising of four members was arrested by a team of Sopore police.

The officer further said that they recovered a wooden toy AK-47 gun, one motorcycle and two cell phones from their procession.

Police identified the accused as Bilal Ahmed Rather (Carpenter), Latief alias Tusqi, Farooq Ahmed and Ishfaq Ahmed, all residents of Sopore.

The police said that the gang was active in Sopore for past one year.
