Jammu: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President and Party candidate for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency G.A. Mir today said that Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits and that Congress will do everything possible for the safe, secure and dignified return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants.

Addressing the meeting of Kashmiri Migrants at Muthi in Jammu, G.A. Mir said that the ultimate goal is to create a congenial atmosphere in the Kashmir valley for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants in an atmosphere of peace, harmony and sense of security for them.

The interaction with Kashmir migrants was organized by Kashmir Migrant Cell of JKPCC led by Hiralal Pandita.

Mir said that the exit of this community from  the valley under the fear of gun is very painful chapter of history, which brought lot of sufferings and havoc for the members of this community and in no way can be compensated.

He said that children of Kashmiri migrants had to struggle a lot for their livelihood and sustainable life.

“However, Congress party, while in Govt took several initiatives for extending different sorts of relief and rehabilitation measures from time to time,” he said referring to the initiatives taken by the UPA I & UPAII and said that facilities for their stay in Jammu as well as transit accommodation were created at various places in valley, besides job opportunities were created for the youth of this community following which around 3000 have joined government sector.

Mir regretted that BJP which claimed to be champion of their cause failed to take and carry forward Congress initiatives  or  implement any result oriented package for  their welfare and rehabilitation.

He appealed to migrant voters to use their influence and prevail upon all the electorate to give him (G.A. Mir) a chance to serve and strengthen Congress party from the State to Centre for the better future of the youth in an atmosphere of amity and diversity.
