KU holds special social service camp for Hazratbal devotees

Srinagar, April 12: University of Kashmir organised a special social service camp for devotees visiting Hazratbal shrine on the eve of following Friday of Shab-i-Mehraj at the Sir Syed Gate of the University.

The camp was organised by University’s Department of Students Welfare (DSW) in collaboration with NSS KU to provide refreshment to the devotees who had turned up in large numbers.

Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad, Dean Academic Affairs Prof Akbar Masood, Registrar KU Dr Nisar A Mir, Controller Examinations Prof Farooq A Mir,  Dean Students Welfare Prof Raies Qadri and Coordinator NSS KU Dr Shamim A Shah served refreshment to the devotees on the occasion and  monitored the preparations in the camp.

“It is a part of our social responsibility”, said the Vice Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad who expressed satisfaction the way volunteers of DSW and NSS had made the arrangements and served the devotees.

Prof Talat said that university is looking forward to organise more such camps in the future.

DSW KU Prof Raies Qadri thanked the volunteers, staff and administration especially the Vice Chancellor for his support to these efforts.
