PSA slapped on JeI Ameer Tehsil Sheeri Narvaw,Uri

Baramulla: As the crackdown on Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) continues, Ameer Tehsil Sheeri Narvaw and Uri Nisar Ahmed Bhat has been booked under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA).

According to Bhat’s family, Ameer Tehsil Sheeri Narvaw and Uri   Nisar Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat of Kalayban Sheeri Narvaw, 45, was booked under PSA and likely to be shifted to Srinagar central jail,

Nisar was arrested on February 24 from his residence at Kalayban Heewan and was placed under police detention.

“We were assured that he will be released after Lokh Shabha elections but PSA was slapped in him two days before polls on 09 April. Our aged parents are ill and suffering from chronic ailments, father is bed ridden from last three years,” said a family member.

According to the officials, over 380 members of Jamaat have been arrested so far and lodged in various jails across the state.
