SRINAGAR, APRIL 09: Commissioner Secretary Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) and PHE A K Sahu today reviewed disaster management plan and its preparations across Kashmir Valley here at a meeting.

Secretary Department of Disaster Management Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction besides concerned engineers of Kashmir division attended the meeting thorough video conferencing.

Detailed presentations were given by Chief Engineer I&FC, Director Disaster Management, M/S EPTISA consultant for Long Term Flood Management of Kashmir Valley and M/S RMSI Consultant for Multi Hazard Risk Management.

The Commissioner Secretary was briefed in detail about the flood scenario risks, mitigation, management, plans in place, resources available and future plans. It was briefed that all standard operating procedures are already in place.

The meeting was attended by officers from all concerned Departments including experts from Kashmir University, IMD Station Srinagar Central Water Commission and consultants from M/S EPTISA and RMSI (JTFRP).
