Locals of Bandzoo village in Pulwama protest against shortage of water

Pulwama, Apr 08: Residents of Bandzoo village in Pulwama district on Monday morning blocked Pulwama-Shopian road to protest against shortage of water.

“Scores of men and woman assembled on Pulwama-Shopian road and protested against Public Health Engineering (PHE) department,” said a witness, “hundreds of vehicles remained stranded for hours as the protesters had blocked the road.”

The protesting locals told Kashmir Images that the water supply to their village has been suspended from last ten 10 days. “We have already apprised the PHE officials about the issue but no action has taken yet,” they added.

When contacted Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, said that a team of officials has been already deputed to the spot and the protesters were assured that water supply to their area will be restored soon.
