Pulwama, Apr 08: Five persons were detained during nocturnal raids at different villages of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

According to locals, government forces conducted raids in Ratnipora and its adjacent villages and detained five persons.

A police official confirmed the news and said that five persons have been detained from Pulwama area in connection with stone pelting related incidents.

He identified the arrestees as Irshad Ahmad Reshi, 25, son of Nazir Ahmad, Gh Nabi Sofi son of Habibullah both residents of Ratnipora village, Asif Ahmad Dar, 19, son of Javeed Ahmad resident of Rakh Lajura village, Tariq Ahmad Rather, 25, son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Kharbat pora ratnipora area and Parvaz Ahmad Dar, 25, son of Ab Ahad resident of Mohanviji village of the district.
