Arrangements for Lok Sabha polls finalised at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, APRIL 08: A high-level meeting of the concerned officers was held at here today in which the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of Lok Sabha Elections were finalized.

The Lok Sabha Elections in Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency will be held in the first phase on April 11, 2019.

The meeting was chaired by the Returning Officer Baramulla PC Dr G.N Itoo while  Expenditure observer Arjun Lal Meena, SSP, Baramulla and SSP, Sopore, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Baramulla, ADC Sopore besides Nodal officers were present in the meeting.

The meeting discussed all election-related matters like deployment of polling staff, magistrates and security personnel, training of polling staff, distribution of poll material, functioning of constituted teams, transportation etc.

The basic facilities kept available at the polling stations, establishment of strong rooms, regulation of traffic and parking issues, communication plan etc. were also discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that there are 13,12,148 eligible voters in Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency and  1749 polling stations   including 859 in Baramulla District, 578 in Kupwara District and 312 in Bandipora District.

The Returning Officer exhorted upon the officers to stay in close touch with each other and ensure that all the arrangements including foolproof security arrangements are put in place well in time  for  free, fair and peaceful elections.
